What are the Chakras?

Updated: Mar 27, 2022

The word Chakra translates as Wheel in the ancient Sanskrit language.

The Chakras are considered as energy centres - they are in fact the link between our physical body and the energy around us, they allow the communication to open up between the two. They could be envisaged as the channel between the two, a bit like a charger or a portal, opening up the possibility of communication from physical body to energy body and our spiritual selves.

The Chakras need to be able to open up, so they need to be serviced and maintained to look after them, they also need to close for our own protection. They could be imagined like small spinners that throw light around the body and when they are all spinning at exactly the right balance, our energy flows freely.

Each Chakra has its own sanskrit name and is associated with a colour from the spectrum of the rainbow, an ancient symbol, a natural element, certain foods and a special place or areas of the body.

Once you start to work with your Chakras, understand and focus on them, you will be enlightened with health, healing, spiritual serenity and a fuller understanding of our purpose.
