Thanks to the amazing author Laura McKowan. I have just read your amazing journey, taking me through the first 5 years of your sobriety. It was extremely brave and courageous to be so honest and open about your experiences, which must have been both painful and yet freeing to get down on paper.
The book was given to me as a gift by a newish member of AA who had no idea that I had started writing a book myself (the day before) and no idea of how much interest and connection this would bring. Synchronicity is at work from our higher powers in play mode!
I am 12 years into my sobriety right now and your descriptions of what it's like when the voice of alcoholism is calling we're as raw as if I was on day 1 again. I also trained as a Yoga teacher and have finally started to gather together my wellbeing tools.
Having recently started writing a book myself, I actually read your book cover to cover taking a lot of interest in your acknowledgements, agent and publishers. I aim to make a success of mine as you have of yours and will certainly make a submission to New World Library when I'm a little further on in the process.
