As many millions of people in Britain have done throughout the pandemic - I joined the Green Fingered Army and got out in the garden. My garden looked tired, unloved and overgrown - I don't have many before pictures, but I will list the arduous tasks that took a lot of hard sweat, hours and more than a few broken nails...
I broke the tasks down as follows:
Painting the fences (30 meters of fences)
Jetwashing and staining the decking
Repainting and replanting the brick flowerbeds
Cleaning all the garden furniture
Trimming the trees and bushes
Weeding the gravel and the front paving
Here's some of the work as it progressed:
Why do I post about this stuff on my blog?
Because it may be inspirational to someone. And I have found that by doing small jobs, one by one, literally break down the big picture into much smaller chunks, it is possible to achieve a lot more than I ever could have imagined single handed! It did not cost me the earth to get the garden looking like an inviting space, one where I was able to rest, read and relax as the summer went on...
