During the pandemic a lot of people have been putting unwanted furniture outside or listing it online for very small prices or free. On more than a few occasions I have come across some perfect little treasures....
ONE
I had just finished redecorating my office and needed a small chair to put in it, I was out running, thinking about the space and what kind of chair might look good there, maybe a leather chesterfield or a tub chair, but not too big and I literally ran across a brown leather bucket chair for FREE a couple of streets from my house. It is in great condition, i popped back with the car and a thank you note and it is now installed in my office. The cat loves it!!!
TWO
I wanted to change the dining room furniture, bought a table locally for £10, painted it with gloss white, found some chairs for free on facebook marketplace, painted those gloss white and refurbished the seats with great fabric - sold the old table and chairs and actually made a profit on the new dining suite! (The beautiful cushion is another blog post!).
THREE
Finally, I have always wanted to correct my posture when on the computer and thought about trying out one of those kneeling chairs. I found one on "nextdoor" app for just £5, brought it home and using some fabric leftovers I was able to to cover it, repaint the wheels and have restyled it from old to new. I am sitting on it now - here's the before and after pics....
We throw so many things away these days, life is just too disposable, I am always elated to reuse old furniture and give it a new life.
